P6 and P7 visit the Folk Museum

27th May 2026
P6 and P7 had a great day exploring life in 19th century Ireland at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh. Learning about the causes and effects of the Irish Famine in their WAU Term 2 topic, they got first hand experience of how the Irish lived in the 1840s. The park guides were knowledgeable and keen for the children to explore the sights, sounds and tastes of long ago. Special thanks to the mums who came on the trip with us - Fiona, Lisa, Paula, Cathy, Amy and Eileen. On the bus home, a few super bikes were spotted in Cookstown which brightened up the long journey home!
